I've got many, many Sun Sparc systems run OpenBSD Sparc64, but
none of them have ever had a keyboard plugged in; without a keyboard
the console goes to the serial port, and I think this is also the default
(on Sparc64, on i386 there's a prompt) for OpenBSD 3.6 after installation.
If you hook up another machine or a laptop to the primary serial port via
null modem, I believe you'll find the machine is working fine, just is not
recognizing the keyboard and pcons console.
I see a message from Matthieu Herrb suggesting the issue is resolved in
-current, if you are feeling adventurous you could hook up a crossover cable
to another machine ant 9600N1 and see if you get a login prompt. If that
works, you could try to bring the machine up to -current to see if the
problem goes away with new kernel.
