Why?  We are not anywhere near slowdown yet.
Even if something breaks, you have plenty of time
to get reports and fix it.

Perhaps your mean because -current says -beta?
Since a few releases, Theo bumps to -beta early in order
to keep the associated churn far away from release time.
It doesn't imply there is a need to hold back any improvements.
