I would say that proper security/stability-only patches sent to
ports@ would go a long way, without putting the burden on anyone
beside the maintainers of the ports. That may be hard for each
maintainer, but at least the work is somewhat distributed. Later,
if someone wants to maintain the -STABLE branch of the CVS tree,
well, that's well and good.

Not every maintainer would have to do this either, but it would be
nice if they did. ;-)
