Booting floppy27.fs, it couldn't find my Xircom RealPort 10/100 card.
Booting floppyB27.fs, it found the card, link light up, interface not
up.

Whenever I used ifconfig to bring up the link, the link light
turns off, and the xe0 device does a timeout (similar to the message
described below). I tried numerous media options like
        media autoselect
        media 10baseT
        media 10baseT media-opt full-duplex
and I even tried instance 1, 2, and 3 with "media 10baseT".
No link light for any of them. :^(

The 3com LAN CardBus 10/100 ethernet card I have fared worse
model 3CCFE575BT). Neither boot floppy mentioned above was
able to detect it.

I'm going to track down some monkeys Friday at Usenix to see if
any of them can help. If so, I'll post what made them work.

Hi Joseph,

I am running OpenBSD with a Xircom RealPort 10/100 + 56K Modem and it
works great. The problem you are having is that the Xircom driver is
not able to autodetect the media type. But if you execute:

ifconfig xe0 media 10baseT

it should start working for you. Unfortunately, I don't remember how
the installer floppy works, but I think it provides an option to pass
extra parameters when configuing the network.

After your install, set up /etc/hostname.xe0 to look like:

inet <ip address> <netmask> media 10baseT

hope this helps,
Mike
