My Fujitsu Lifebook has an internal modem that I do not expect to work under OpenBSD. \
I have been trying to set up a Zoom PC Card modem by: a.. disabling COM1 in firmware
b.. disabling the internal modem in firmware
My system dual boots OpenBSD & M$ NT4.0 and with the above changes the Zoom modem \
works fine as COM1. Enabling the internal modem was unnecessary for NT but I \
disabled it for good measure.

I believe the Zoom should be /dev/cuac0 under OpenBSD, and on one occasion (if I was \
not hallucinating) I was able to get it to respond OK to the AT command using ppp and \
the term sub-command. I've never been able to repeat it, usually getting back: \
Failed to open /dev/cuac0 I've tried all the /dev/cu* devices with even less success \
(some fail to open, others hang).

Any thoughts on where to go from here? I'm attaching a dmesg listing.

Thanks
Marty
