Okay: this is interesting.  If a .xsession exists in my home dir
(regardless of the contents) the login screen keeps cycling.  If I remove
the .xsession file, then .Xclients (which links to .xsession) is broken
and I'm able to login to fvwm which I'm using currently.  Anyone know
what's going on?
