System : OpenBSD 2.3
Architecture: OpenBSD.i386
Machine : i386
>Description:
Chat does not work with expect/send pairs on the commandline.
It works properly with the expect/send pairs in a file, (-f option).
>How-To-Repeat:
Execute "chat a b c d e f".
Pressing "a" generates a response of "b".
Pressing "c" SHOULD generate a response of "d",
but it hangs until it times out.
To demonstrate PROPER behaviour, create a file containing:
a b
c d
e f
then execute "chat -f <filename>, followed by keypresses
of "a", "c", and "e".
>Fix:
Use "-f <filename>" instead of using commandline.
