I'm not offended. I personally like it, but then again, I've been called
tasteless on many an occasion. Hell, I think that Yngwie Malmsteen's a
good musician and think that Iron Maiden album covers look cool.
Transparency isn't built-in; you have to invoke the transset utility and
manually apply it to a window if you want it to be transparent.
Basically, it's only there if you want it to be. The drop-shadows, on
the other hand, are always there whether they're appropriate or not.
This is what screws up the look of gDesklets.
