Presumably, it would also be possible to use PSE36 in place of PAE, as
with the PSE36 Ram Disk [1] model. I am not sure if this is a
performance win over PAE, [1] says the OS doesn't need to be modified
so it sounds like it should be, but ultimately the real fix is clearly
x86_64. (And we'd have to add our own PSE36 support to the Linux
kernel, at best it sounds like a lot of work for a dying architecture)
