Seems to have fixed the problem. Before I couldn't go past 31MB of
compcache usage with Gutsy-i386 on my DualCore real hardware. Now I
have cycled 300-400MB of swap between /dev/sdb3 /dev/compcache a dozen
times without any problems.

I've tested it with and without compiz/beryl (Visual Effects are
enabled on my real hardware, but not from within VMs, so I thought it
could be related to why 0.1 worked in VMs but not on my real
hardware).
