Comment(by Quozl):
You can obtain the serial number from behind the battery. It is also
available in the manufacturing data set.
The manufacturing data set also includes keyboard type, which may be of
diagnostic interest. (I've a theory that this problem may relate to the
keyboard type set in your laptop's manufacturing data, and I can't test
for that without knowing what type it is set to now.)
Sugar logs can be found in the filesystem of the laptop at
/home/olpc/.sugar/default/logs.
To capture this data for us, please do this:
* reproduce the problem,
* start the Terminal activity,
* capture the data to a file,
{{{
tar cfz 10258.tar.gz .sugar/default/logs /ofw
}}}
(this creates a file 10258.tar.gz which encapsulates the logs and the
OpenFirmware device tree)
* attach the file to this ticket.
If you have any questions about this process, please ask.
