<tt>Picking runtime connection credentials is part of the "Dynamic
Credentials" feature that today requires a little bit of coding.<br>
<br>
I have a working example application on my blog that illustrates how to
do it.<br>

<br>
It's example #14.<br>
<br>
The code is more up to date than the OTN article that describes this
feature:<br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" \
href="http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/dynamicjdbchowto.html" \
>http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/dynamicjdbchowto.html</a><br>
>
<br>
The code had to be modified to work with either 9.0.5.2 or 10.1.2. <br>
<br>
The article is still talking only about the 9.0.5.2 coding approach.<br>

<tt>Sanjiv,<br>
<br>
Unless Forms improved on this post-5.0, then my recollection is that
Oracle Forms has a File | Connect... menu pick where you type in the
username/password (and SID?) you want to connect to.<br>
<br>
In JDeveloper, you do View | Connections to see the Connections
Navigator (since there are various kinds of connections you might want
to make, like connections to a database, connections to an application
server, etc.) and under the "Database" connections category, you can
right-mouse "New Database Connection" to define a new database
connection.<br>
<br>
You can define many different connections, then use the right one for
different apps that you build.<br>
</tt>
