             Bug #: 3615
           Summary: accelerate refclock startup
           Product: ntp
           Version: 4.2.8
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: CONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: ntpd
        AssignedTo: stenn@ntp.org
        ReportedBy: perlinger@ntp.org
                CC: bugs@ntp.org
    Classification: Unclassified

Network peers can use IBURST to get an initial set of samples quickly to
stabilize sooner. A similar behavior can be implemented for reference clocks,
without changes to the individual clock drivers. This should improve/shorten
the time needed to settle a refclock.
