Peter,

1) the 'pool' keyword may be in ntp-dev (which will soon be 4.2.6) and not
in 4.2.4.

2) Use iburst.  See http://support.ntp.org/Support/StartingNTP4

3) That will be fixed with the new SNTP code, which should be available soon
in ntp-dev (which will be part of the 4.2.6 release).
