Subject: ntpd regularly dies on linux/alpha

Harlan,

I was surprised to see churchy running Linux, as I asked my grad student 
to install FreeBSD on churchy2, which he did. Then all of a sudden Linux 
showed up on churchy. There is an incompatibility between the two 
machines, so I have asked him to reverse the installation and put Linux 
on churchy2 and return churchy to FreeBSD. The machines might not be 
stable fow awhile.
