First try was building 1393 under Win NT4 SP6 / VC6 and testing it on two
different NT4SP6 (error) and Win2K (works OK) machines.

Second try was building 1396 under Win2K SP4 / VC6 and testing it on two NT4SP6
(error), one W2K SP4 (ok) and one WinXP SP2 machine (ok).

So, the same build definitely shows a different behavior under WinNT4 and
Win2K/WinXP ...

Sad but true.
