I merely wanted to know if the NTP server was down. I did not setup our time
server service, so I will begin to track down the source of the problem. I was
just looking for a starting point - and that was with the event ID 11 "NTP
Server did not respond". I did not even know what an NTP server was or even
which one we are accessing ( I presume there is more than 1). Thanks anyway

Mario

Mario,

What is it you want the bugs corps to do? We don't know what a PDC is,
what server(s) might be involved, whether you have verified the network
path(s) do or do not work, whether or not your client and server
actually worked on previous occasion, what ICMP network messages might
have been received, what your experience with the debugging procedures
in the documentation did or did not reveal, what the source of ID 25
and/or Event 11 is (not the NTP daemon xntpd or ntpd) and what basis
those messages are emitted, not to mention the NTP version, operating
system and whether the NTP software came from your vendor or from our
repository at www.ntp.org.

If in fact you have all the above issues resolved and if the server has
in fact become disconnected or worse, we cannot help you. You must take
the issue to the responsible person listed in the public lists. You use
only those servers or others for which you have specific permission,
right? If in fact the above is true, but the server is operational, we
can't help you either; you must use the debugging procedures. We can't
do that from here.

If you have resolved everything above, but believe the problem to be an
implementation bug, we will need much additional information,
specifically the results of the debugging procedures and returned log
and trace data.
