Initial Comment:
I need to create a shortcut that points to an environment variable which contains a \
directory path. The following command fails:

CreateShortCut  "${STARTMNU}\MyLink.lnk"  "%ENV_VAR%"

i tried doing this:

CreateShortCut  "${STARTMNU}\MyLink.lnk"  "%ENV_VAR%\"

which creates the shortcut however it changes the target to "C:\%ENV_VAR%".

Creating the shortcut manually works.
