I can tell you from my previous research it is the destination gadget that is
displaying its borders.  I've done projects to convert a signature string into
bitmaps, and the resulting bitmaps do not have the border.

Although a gadget does not normally have a border, NSB/Palm automagically adds
one when doing any signature operation like a capture or display.  This is a
"feature" of NSB/Palm and generally not a problem.

I agree it would be nice to have it optional though.
