Hi!
- We had the same problem.
We also setup a new DNS server where we define frontend.
Now we have no problem.
- But there are many cases that defining frontend in the local DNS server is \
difficult.
- We are happy if frontend does not need to be in the DNS to function \
properly.(rocks5.1) We are happy if we can add some zones to /etc/named.conf.local \
which will be copied to /etc/named.conf like "Extending DNS" in \
http://www.rocksclusters.org/roll-documentation/base/5.1/dns.local.html
- In our DNS server(Ubuntu9.04), /etc/bind/named.conf includes \
/etc/bind/named.conf.local.
<named.conf/named.conf.local>
# tail named.conf
type master;
file "/etc/bind/db.0";
};
zone "255.in-addr.arpa" {
type master;
file "/etc/bind/db.255";
};
include "/etc/bind/named.conf.local";
# cat named.conf.local
//
// Do any local configuration here
//
// Consider adding the 1918 zones here, if they are not used in your
// organization
//include "/etc/bind/zones.rfc1918";
thank you
go
