Yes it's fixed the problem.

The readme for the client update @ http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3874 
includes

However I'd still advise applying Novell's patches for NW6.5 SP8 and 
OES2 SP1 Linux to cover Macs that haven't been upgraded or in case Apple 
re-break things ...
