This link talks about a problem with the N100.lan driver, which in fact is
the driver I *was* using, so I followed the instructions and used a
different driver.  If it made any difference, I'm not sure, but a WindowsXP
workstation with the Netware Client running IPX only can still copy files
from my NW5.1 server at least 4 times faster than the same workstation in IP
only mode.  

I haven't had time to do a packet trace yet.
