This was considered tangentially on an http://www.rootprompt.org thread two
days ago,
http://www.rootprompt.org/article.php3?article=1362
I suspect gnupg is a plugin replacement for pgp, which was more often
mentioned in
that rootprompt.org thread.
I believe exmh will do gnupgp.
While I still use exmh, its reliance on mh makes its configuration awkward,
so I wait for one of these numerous new GUI mail-user-agents as a replacement.
Many people like XFmail, which apparently handles pgp and gnupg.
However, XFmail is being re-written on Gtk+ libraries and will be called
Archimedes.
I set my eyes mostly on Archimedes or sylpheed below.
A couple other GUI (usually Gtk based) mail user agents I have seen others
recommend include
sylpheed #does gnupg/pgp and is the newest mail user agent,
#appearance supposedly similar to MS Outlook Express
#with Emacs-like keyboard commands (eclectic combination)!
spruce #handles pgp, but creates its own mailbox type (no standards?)
balsa #I don't know about pgp for balsa
I know Tim Bogart can handle any emailer, GUI or command-line based,
so why would he want a GUI emailer?
Hasn't he heard of the many people in this email-list who like Mutt?
It's fast over a network.
However, in a GUI, I can better use my 40 email folders that procmail pumps
300 messages into daily.
I can see both the email message and the headers of unseen messages.
Honestly, email user agents have so many options I use in a pedestrian way
that my laziness prefers them; I still occasionally use mh whose commands
I half remember and half forget (there are so many emailer commands).
Besides the browser, the emailer is one of the few applications I get advantage
using a GUI.
