Did you create a boot diskette when you installed FC?   When you say you
tried to move the boot loader what do you mean?  Almost all modern systems
should have the boot loader installed in the mater boot record (MBR).

If not you could boot from CD, mount the Linux filesystem and manipulate
from there.
