Subject:    [novalug] Sony camera mini-disc problem

I was at a ceremony today which was photographed with a Sony digital camera. 
When the ceremony was over, the photographer handed me a mini-disc from the 
camera. Fine - except I can not get my computer to read the disc. Attempting 
to mount mount with a:   -t iso9660 gives:
mount: block device /dev/scd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/scd0,
       or too many mounted file systems

any idea what I am doing wrong/how to fix this? The pics are of very high 
value to me.
