The nmap downloads have included RPMs for a long time. Is there any
chance that .deb packages could also be hosted in a manner that Debian
or Ubuntu or any APT based distro could download and install?

The official Debian repository lags way behind on Nmap releases
(although not quite as bad as it used to). Having a way to get the
latest without the need to compile it locally would be great.
