I am having problems with one of my machines with a Nvidia GeForce GT710
graphics card. From time to time, Xorg locks up. When I kill it, it reports
"DRM: GPU lockup -- switching to software fbcon" and following lines
mention nouveau even though I have:

nixpkgs.config.allowUnfree = true;
services.xserver.videoDrivers = [ "nvidia" ];

First, why does it say "nouveau" when I specifically asked for "nvidia"? No
where is my configuration.nix is there nouveau. (Note: I was using nouveau
originally but switched because of stability issues.)

Second, looking at the log with "journalctl -u display-manager.service" I
see
"ModulePath set to
"/nix/store/3z0jya9pajbbb8w264z1glxfx2frqnm0-nvidia-x11-340.96-4.4.39"
which suggests to me that it is using nvidiaLegacy340 even though I
specifically ask for "nvidia" not nvidiaLegacy340".
nixpkgs/pkgs/os-specific/linux/nvidia-x11/default.nix contains version
390.25 (which supports my GPU according to the nvidia site) so I expect I
should get that driver. How do I get it to use the newer driver?

Any suggestions what to do? (I am getting tired of having to reboot the
machine every few days because Xorg locks up.)

Mark
