Same here Charles, I checked as well. 2008R2 is not on the approved list for 4.1.6.

Jon,
A few years ago, we started out with a single BES with local SQL DB then moved to 2 \
BES and changed to a remote SQL DB then scaled out to 2 pair of (BES 4.1.6.169 (MR5) \
servers and 2 pair of SQL servers (We use NeverFail for High Availability so each \
pair has a hot stand by) Its obviously more than enough to run our 500 BB devices \
currently. All are DL360 G5s with 6-8gb of RAM and running W2k3Server. Our GW \
backend is 7.03 HP4 running on OES2SP2-Linux and SLES 10.3. Once BES5.01 is released \
we will be going to HP BL460c G6 blades for each.

Last time I checked, 2008R2 was not on the approved list for 4.1.6 - but it should be \
OK for 5.0.1 whenever it's released.

BES will not deliver messages larger that 5MB to any user, so you'll be okay with the \
drive space....

The only other thing is if you're like most of us, you may want to use another server \
for the router portion of BES - that's the part that needs to go into the DMZ.

Running roughly 500 users on HP380G5 [4GB] with the same raid and drive setup as you.

I am assuming that any dual core i7 with 8G of ram should be plenty, but
I am curious about storage. Will a setup of RAID 1+0 using 4 146G be
overkill? The users have large or no quotas in GroupWise.

I am looking for some advice from the list. I would like to run Windows
2008 R2 -- does anyone know if BES 4.1.6 will run on it? What are you
all running on? And what version of SQL?
