I did some digging. I raised this issue back in July 2008 on this list - subject was \
"Reoccurring appointment from outside sends flood ofreplies". On July 7, 2008, Jay \
Parker responded with this:
"We collapse an 'accept all' down to a single response; this is equivalent to other \
systems accepting a recurrence rule. If the user selects just the instance then each \
instance acceptance will generate a response. Declining should behave similarly. At \
least that's my understanding and expectation of how the developer fixed it. For \
some reason actual implementation can sometimes differ :-)"
And this was referring to GW8. So you might need to follow up with Novell to see \
what is going on.

GroupWise 8.0.1

Steve,

What GroupWise version?

I know this happened with GW7. I raised this issue and was told it would be fixed \
with GW8. I haven't actually verified that it is fixed, but I haven't had any \
complaints about it since we upgraded to 8, so I assume it is fixed.

One of our users receives and accepts a recurring appointment from an outside client \
(who is sending appointments via Exchange).

The appointment changes and now the old appointment is no longer necessary.

Our user deletes the old appointments from his calendar.

The outside client is saturated with multiple "Cancellation" or "Denied" emails.

How can our user delete/remove the old appointments without send sending a \
notification back to the original sender?

Thanks,

Steve
