Dennis Ritchie, the joint Unix (Unics) and C author died on the 13th.

For the Unix (and Linux and OSX Terminal) monkeys out here, there's an informative \
obituary in The Observer newspaper. The online version has a link to Ritchie's work \
webpage, which in turn contains a treasure trove of old manuals in electronic form. \
As it says in the article, his creations power everything from routers, iPhones, \
Android phones, OSX and Windows, even the Newton.
