I have one w/ a (very full) 30GB drive, and am chafing at the slowness
- you tempt me to upgrade the drive instead of moving up to a new 17"
as originally planned!
If you're interested, I have the code to allow a software switch to
533MHz/133MHz-bus. It's just a series of commands I found by Googling,
to enter after booting into the rom itself. I've been running with it
up-switched for a couple of years and have never regretted it.
Another upgrade you might want to consider is the CD drive. I can now
burn DVDs - although I cannot burn anything through the finder (despite
locating - after some trouble - and applying a software patch that
claimed to permit such), I have no trouble at all using the NTI Dragon
Burn software bundled with the drive. I even installed it myself -
 >nowhere< >near< as frustrating as trying to upgrade the hard-drive in
my wife's iBook (which I gave up on), although not _quite_ as simple as
the included instructions had implied (as they say, YMMV)...
