I had the same problem, I solved by editing the folowing line on the
nscgi.cfg file.

netsaint_check_command=/usr/local/netsaint/libexec/check_netsaint
/usr/local/netsaint/var/status.log 5 'netsaint'

does anyone know how to get rid of the error message at the top of the
netsaint screen saying that netsaint is not running,

it is running, and all my log files are intact , so what am i doing
wrong
