Have u tried the following? I find that Nagios or Netsaint won't start if
there are configuration errors.
/path-to-nagios-binary/nagios -v /path-to-nagios-config/nagios.cfg
Should give something like this

Subject: [netsaint] Netsaint doesn't start anymore ! (SIGSEGV)
Hi,
after updating from FreeBSD 4.6-something to 4.7p7, netsaint doesn't
start anymore.
Upgrading netsaint also didn't to any good.
I just get these in the netsaint.log file:
[1047340147] Finished daemonizing... (New PID=73174)
[1047340147] Caught SIGSEGV, shutting down...
any ideas ?
How can I make netsaint's startup-output more verbose or run it in the
foreground,
so I can run truss on it ?
cheers,
Rainer
