Subject:    Seeking clarification of some kernel messages

I'm a lot of the following errors on one of my webservers and I just
wanted to know if they signify a hardware or configuration problem or
are just supposed to be informative. The box is a RH 7.0, 2.4.2 kernel
with netfilter 1.2. The NIC is a 3c905C. Thanks for your time.

Bad, what else can I say?
KERNEL: assertion (tp->lost_out == 0) failed at
tcp_input.c(1202):tcp_remove_reno_sacks
sending pkt_too_big to self
