Well... it's a buglet. I wouldn't call it serious, though it shouldn't 
happen. I've put it on the TODO list. Anybody volunteering to fix it? 

what about looking into the soruce instead asking this question on the
list?

parse_hostnetworkmask / parse_hostnetwork / dotted_to_addr 
are the respective functions.
