Hi!
As more and more people are interested in a netfilter failover system,
where all state information is replicated from one master to one or
multiple slaves, I've started a mailinglist about this topic.
In the mailinglist archives are copies of private e-mails where most of the
past discussion happened (yes, i know... the important things are
unfortunately in german, because I was discussing this with other german
people).
anyway, I've written a small concept on how i intend to implement this
(and how I started to implement it).
I suggest all people who are interested in this discussion to join this
list at http://lists.gnumonks.org/mailman/listinfo/netfilter-failover
Archives are at http://lists.gnumonks.org/pipermail/netfilter-failover
As the failover system is going to be a invasive change to the current
code, it goes far beyond the scope of the current netfilter connection
tracking / NAT. Most parts (new netlink family, failover daemons, ...)
are in no way relaated to the netfilter/iptables code at all, so I think
it's better to start the discussion on a seperate mailinglist.
