I have newer seen that error although I'm using in an Intel GbE card
in my 24/7 server for almost two years now.

The PCI support in that chipset is *very* broken. I'm not surprised
that your experience problems with a high bandwidth device like a
gigabit ethernet card.

Try getting an Intel i815 motherboard (fine working PCI support, an
extra PCI bus for the IDE hostadapters) and a Pentium III as cheap
replacements for your current hardware.

	Kind regards
