and with Nov 27 17:52 code all is OK, but more likely is I did a make
cleandir before make depend && make in the compile/KERNEL directory..
.. and this was the bit about apmcall.s:
59{1,3,4,5}: Warning: using `%eax' instead of `%ax' due to `l' suffix
613        : Warning: indirect lcall without `*'
