Howdy!
Thanks for the app, great work.
I've been trying to set up a "jailed" type of TimeMachine.
I am not sure how these backups work, but I want to be able to jail users to their \
own LVMs and thus, quotas. I was unable to get the [Homes] option to work with the \
time machine option, that might not be its intended design.
With a share, I was able to do the following:
[TM]
path = /home/$u/tm
vol size limit = 1000000 (Overwritten if the LVM is smaller than this)
valid users = user1 user2 user3
time machine = yes
But, with this config, you are unable to see if as a Time Machine until you use the \
cmd+k option, and connect to the share (not desired, end users).
However, if I apply this config:
[TM]
path = /home/
vol size limit = 1000000 (Overwritten if the LVM is smaller than this)
valid users = user1 user2 user3
time machine = yes
Then restart the service, the share will appear, then I change the config back to the \
first one, send a kill -1 to the afpd process, the config reloads, the Time Machine \
stills shows in a client, and you get directed to your share, this works until the \
service restarts totally, at which point the share disappears from the list of Time \
Capsules in the backup app.
Any ideas as to why the share is not available with the initial config?
