Client is  Snow Leopard 10.6.1
At least mount says there is nothing mounted and running opensnoop on  
osx does not reveal any file access to those volumes...
But indeed the Finder says its connected to the server and afpd logs:

So, my understanding is, that the client does not mount anything....
