Hi,

RedHat 7.3, netatalk 1.6.1, same problem. System had to be shut down to 
switch to a UPS.
After coming back up Mac users could not see the exported filesystem 
anymore. I stopped
netatalk, deleted all files in .AppleDB/, started again and the problem 
was solved, of course
in a dirty way.

I had it compiled with debugging on, below some logs.
