so would't it be nice to have a tool which scans the volume and does a DB
rebuild ?
wasn't there a perlscript avaible for that sort of jobs ? an if so is it
still compatible with
the latest netatalkversion.

Something like that would be extremly usefull in an netalk/samba environment
so we could
shedule  a nightly  CNID-DB update run.This would reduce possible db
inconsisty to a minimum.

BTW: i am  currently playing around with the new cnid feature in a
smb/netatalk environment. so do
you know a situation where cnid inconsisty should definitivly cause a
reproduceable clientside error ?
