Hi,
I'm having a problem with the pass_persist feature and I would be very
grateful if anyone could provide any help.
I am trying to get a Java program ( called SNMPAgentDemo) to handle SNMP Get
requests for any OIDs on the subtree of the OID .1.3.6.1.3.1.1
I've added the following line to the snmpd.conf file
pass_persist .1.3.6.1.3.1.1 /usr/bin/java -classpath
/home/barney1572/barney1572/Documents/snmp/SNMPAgentDemo/src/SNMPAgentDemo.jar
SNMPAgentDemo
My understanding of this line was that pass_persist tells the SNMP agent
that any requests for OIDs on the subtree of .1.3.6.1.3.1.1 would then be
passed to the SNMPAgentDemo program
However, when I execute the following SNMP Get command :
snmpget -v 2c -c public 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.3.1.1.1.2.1.2.12)
I receive this error
EMNETS-MIB::networkNodeName.12 = No Such Object available on this
agent at this OID
It appears that my Java program is not being executed at all, I was
wondering if anyone knew of a possible reason for this not working or tell
me if I need to perform any additional configuration steps to enable the
pass_persist feature.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mark Hennelly
