In order to build on Redhat Linux 8 I had to do the following:

ln -s libelf.so.0.8.2 /usr/lib/libelf.so
ln -s libbz2.so.1.0.2 /usr/lib/libbz2.so
ldconfig
make

However, on Redhat 9, I am still having problems.  I had to add some
symbolic links like I did on Redhat 8, but now I am seeing the following
errors:

gcc -I/usr/include/rpm -g -O2 -Dlinux -I/usr/include/rpm -o .libs/snmpd
snmpd.o  ./.libs/libnetsnmpagent.so ./.libs/libnetsnmpmibs.so
helpers/.libs/libnetsnmphelpers.so ../snmplib/.libs/libnetsnmp.so -ldl
/usr/lib/librpm.so
/usr/lib/librpmdb.so -L/usr/src/build/229501-i386/BUILD/rpm-4.2/zlib -L/usr/
local/lib -lelf /usr/lib/librpmio.so -lrt -lpthread -lbz2
/usr/lib/libpopt.so -lz -lcrypto -lm  -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib
/usr/bin/ld: unrecognized option '--eh-frame-hdr'
/usr/bin/ld: use the --help option for usage information
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [snmpd] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jlerner/net-snmp-5.0.8/agent'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 1

Any ideas???
