Summary: librpm.so lib not working

Initial Comment:
I have ucd-snmp-4.2.1 running on Redhat 6.2. When I
try to run any of the binaries (snmpd, snmpwalk, etc)
I get the following error:
"/usr/sbin/snmpd: error in loading shared
libraries: /usr/lib/librpm.so.0: undefined symbol:
fdio"
I upgraded rpm and it did not help.

If I can't make this work I was thinking of building
the pakage with static libraries. Is there an easy
way to that?

Thanks,
mvargas@tnsi.com

That is totally bizarre. I have ucd-snmp-4.2.1 running on
Redhat 7.0 and none of the binaries use the librpm.so
library and there's no reason that they should.

If you run ldd on /usr/sbin/snmpd do you see librpm.so
listed as a dependency?

It sounds like you should also uninstall and then reinstall
the ucd-snmp rpms.
