Summary: Why can't I set a variable of Mibtree?

Initial Comment:
hi all,
I install ucd-snmp 4.1.2 in linux.
And then run the "snmpd" ,and can get the value of
system.sysContact.0.
But when I want to set a new value of
system.sysContact.0, I get
"No reponse from steven(steven is my host name)".
I check the mib-tree system.sysContact.0 is writable.
How can I solve the problem?
thanks!
steven
