I think you're specifying the location of OpenSSL wrongly.
If you're installed OpenSSL on /usr/local/ssl, then this
is what you tell configure, not /usr/local/ssl/lib

From the configure usage output:

    $ ./configure --help | grep -i ssl
    --with-openssl=PATH Look for openssl in PATH/lib.

Try  ./configure --with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl

Dave

I had installed OpenSSL on /usr/local/ssl
the version is openssl-engine-0.9.6.tar
When i run shell script ./configure --with-
openssl=/usr/local/ssl/lib
It show following?
"checking for authentication support... Internal MD5 Support
configure: warning: Asked to use OpenSSL but I couldn't
find it."

Browser: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; Konqueror/1.93 Beta >= 20000813; X11); Supports \
MD5-Digest; Supports gzip encoding

You'll have to be more specific about what problems you're seeing. It says it can't \
find openssl? Where do you have openssl installed? Did you use the \
--with-openssl=/path/to/it argument if its not located in /usr/local/ssl?
