Summary: Configuration without .conf files
Initial Comment:
Is it possible to add and remove (threadsafe and in runtime) managed agents (Notification
generators) without using any .conf files?
Today you can add a managed agent by adding a createUser row to a .conf file
E.g. createUser -e 0x001122 myuser MD5 my_password DES
I would like to use an API to add/remove this information in runtime and handle the persistence of
this information on my own.
Thanks...

Yes, you can add and remove users using the snmpusm
command (or by performing SETs to the snmpUserTable (which
is what the snmpusm command does)) as well as the snmpvacm
command (and all the VACM related tables).
Notifications can be added dynamically as well, though you
have to perform the SNMP sets manually to the
SNMP-NOTIFICATION-MIB and SNMP-TARGET-MIB as there is no
"easy to use command" like there is for the usm and vacm
tables.
