Well, I agree that the default should have always been local.  And I
agree it probably should be.  We just need to be clear that it is a
change in functionality, which we've always been shy of before (except
for the -> 5.0 change where we let more creep in).

Actually, the only time I've *ever* used the SMUX stuff was with a
remote agent ;-)
