Initial Comment:
In the UCD SNMP v4.2 source dir agent/mibgroup/kernel_linux.c, the function 
linux_read_mibII_stats opens the proc/net/snmp file. The following test does a return 0
without closing the opened file:

   if (linux_mibII_stats_cache_marker &&
        (!atime_ready( linux_mibII_stats_cache_marker, LINUX_STATS_CACHE_TIMEOUT
*1000 )))
        return 0;

I could not find if this problem had been reported in the past.
